Proper Hydration: A Key to Weight Loss

WOMAN DRINKING WATER GLOWINGIf you’ve ever read weight loss or fitness articles, you probably noticed that everyone from medical doctors to personal trainers is constantly reminding you to drink your water. This is obviously a valuable and important piece of information, not just for weight loss but for overall health. Water is vital to your energy and metabolism, flushes toxins from your body, and helps you to digest food properly.

And yet, after hearing the “drink water” mantra a few thousand times, you might be frustrated and thinking to yourself, I already drink plenty of water! But I still don’t feel good, and I’m not happy with my weight either!

The truth is, drinking water doesn’t automatically equate with proper hydration of your body. If your body can’t absorb the water you’re drinking, you’ll remain chronically dehydrated. And chronic dehydration negatively impacts your weight loss efforts as well as your overall health.

Luckily, science has come a long way in helping us to understand hydration on a molecular level. Just in the past decade, we’ve learned that aging affects our body’s ability to absorb the water we drink. When we’re young, our bodies can convert water in any form into the molecular structure we need to stay hydrated. Yet, as we age, our bodies cannot convert water molecules anymore. Research shows that the molecules need to be arranged in a single-file structure, and yet our bodies are no longer able to rearrange them in this way. This means we aren’t properly absorbing the water we drink. Many of us are walking around chronically dehydrated, and it’s impacting everything from our energy levels to our ability to lose weight.

hydrationKnowledge is power, and we are now able to put all of that scientific research into actual practice. If you want to lose weight, have more energy, enjoy more youthful skin, and just generally feel better throughout the day, it’s important to analyze how you’re hydrating your body. Drinking those eight glasses of water per day isn’t going to work if you can’t absorb them.

A hydration system which emphasizes the correct molecular structure of water is vital to achieving your weight loss goals. After all, water is the source of all life, so it makes sense that a holistic approach to weight loss should address the very foundation upon which you maintain your health. Choose a hydration system that allows your body to correctly absorb and use the water you drink, so that losing weight and feeling great will be easier than ever.
